WORKSHOP MEETING MONDAY TO DISCUSS SMALL AREA PLAN

A workshop meeting is planned for Monday regarding the City of Brenham’s Small Area Plan.

Members of the Brenham City Council, Planning and Zoning Commission, Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone No. 1 Board and Small Area Plan project working group will gather to examine and discuss the final concept of the plan.

The Small Area Plan is meant to provide options and guidance for how to utilize the 600-plus acres of mostly vacant land around the Brenham Family Park on the south side of the city.  The plan does not include any potential commercial or residential development within the roughly 110 acres devoted to the Brenham Family Park itself.

Three concepts were showcased during a Small Area Plan town hall meeting in August. A workshop will be held on Monday for city groups to review the final concept that was created based off of feedback from the town hall and other sources.

The final concept being unveiled on Monday is a culmination of three project working group meetings, results from a community survey, property owner meetings and a town hall event in August.

The joint work session will be held at 3:30 p.m. in Morriss Hall at The Barnhill Center.
