DEADLINE TUESDAY TO REGISTER TO VOTE FOR NOV. 7 ELECTION

  

Today (Tuesday) is the final day to register to vote for the November 7th election.

Voter registration applications must either be postmarked or delivered in person to the Washington County Elections Office at the courthouse by 5 p.m.

According to Elections Administrator Carol Jackson, Washington County had 24,844 registered voters at the end of business on Monday.

Fourteen proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution will be on the ballot.  They include raising homestead exemptions from $40,000 to $100,000; providing cost-of-living adjustments for retired teachers; creating dedicated energy, water and broadband infrastructure funds; and protecting the right to engage in farming, ranching and related practices.

Early voting begins October 23rd and ends November 3rd
