Seasonal fall weather welcomed thousands to Chappell Hill over the weekend for the Chappell Hill Historical Society’s 46th Annual Scarecrow Festival.

The festival packed the streets of downtown Chappell Hill on Saturday and Sunday with hundreds of vendors and exhibitors, live music and family-friendly fun.

Joel Romo, past president of the Historical Society and current public relations committee chair, says the turnout was “overwhelming” and is thrilled that so many people choose Chappell Hill to kick off the fall season.

Romo says the festival not only supports local businesses, but it also brings awareness to Chappell Hill’s unique identity.

This festival and the Bluebonnet Festival in the spring serve as the Historical Society’s major fundraisers, helping to preserve the heritage of the community and maintain its historic buildings and properties.  Planning has already begun for next year’s Bluebonnet Festival.
