SIX CALLS WEDNESDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

  

Three grass fires were among six calls for the Brenham Fire Department on Wednesday.

Around 7:15 a.m., the department was dispatched to Leghorn Street and Old Mill Creek Road for a report of a grass fire.  Units arrived to find a small area burning on a flatbed trailer.  Firefighters extinguished the area and returned to service.

At 11 a.m., BFD members responded to the 1300 block of FM 390 East for a grass fire.  They, along with the Gay Hill Volunteer Fire Department, found a small grass fire and put it out.

At 11:30 a.m. firefighters went out to the 6500 block of Gibbs Creek Road for another grass fire.  They arrived on location with the Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department to find a small grass fire.  They extinguished the blaze and returned to the station.    

Shortly after 4:45 p.m., the department responded to Blinn Boulevard and West Main Street for a report of a transportation incident.  They found a three vehicle accident with no fluids leaking and returned to service. 

Around 6:45 p.m., units received a report of a homeowner stuck inside his attic in the 800 block of Rhames Street.  They arrived and, along with EMS, removed the patient from the attic.

Just past 11 p.m., BFD members were called out to the 900 block of West Fifth Street for a transportation incident with fluids leaking.  Once at the scene, they found a two-vehicle accident.  They used dry absorbent on the spill and returned to service.
