CUBETTES LOSE HEARTBREAKER TO MAGNOLIA WEST 3-2

The Brenham Cubette Volleyball Team lost a 3-2 heartbreaker on the road at Magnolia West last (Friday) night.

Magnolia West won the first set 25-22. Brenham came back to win the next two sets 25-21 and 25-16 to take a 2-1 lead. The Lady Mustangs tied the match by winning the fourth set 25-17.

Magnolia West then won the fifth set 16-14.

Charli Crowson had another triple-double to lead the Cubettes. She finished with 16 kills, 15 digs, and 17 assists.

Rylee Sommerlatte finished with 11 kills, Lillie Thibodeaux added ten kills, Shelbey Cross and Lainie Bolcerek had eight kills each, and Antyiahna Lang finished with seven kills.

Kristen Kuehn led the defense with 38 digs, while Sienna Kelm added 22 digs, and Brooklin Frazier had 11 digs.

Averi Frazier dished out 33 assists.

With the Brenham loss and the College Station win over Rudder last (Friday) night, the top two playoff spots in the district are set. The College Station Lady Cougars are the District Champions, and get the number one seed. The Brenham Cubettes are the runner-ups and will get the #2 seed.

The regular season wraps up on Tuesday night as the Cubettes host College Station for their "Seniors Night" game at the Brenham High School Gym beginning at 6pm.
