GIDDINGS CROSS COUNTRY MOVING ON TO STATE MEET

The Giddings Buffaloes Cross Country Team is going to the Class 4A State Cross Country Meet after finishing in Second Place at the Regional Meet earlier today (Tuesday) at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville.

The Buffaloes were behind only Salado for the top spot.

Individually, Julian Olivares (Sr.) led Giddings with a sixth place finish overall. Olivares ran the 5K course in a time of 16:27.96.

Joseph Villegas (Sr.) was second on the team after finishing 14th overall. Villegas ran the course in a time of 16:58.04.

The Class 4A State Cross Country Meet is going to be on Saturday, November 4, in Austin.

Meanwhile, the Giddings Lady Buffaloes finished 7th overall at the Regional Meet. Only the top four teams qualify for State.

Kayla Herrera (Sr.) was the top individual finisher for Giddings on the two mile course. She placed 20th overall with a time of 13:17.71.
