BURTON’S SIGSBEE MAKING SECOND STRAIGHT TRIP TO STATE CROSS COUNTRY MEET

Burton's Peyton Sigsbee made history last year by becoming the first Lady Panther to qualify for the State Cross Country meet, and this year, she's going back.

On Tuesday, at the Class 2A Region IV Meet in Corpus Christi, Sigsbee, a junior, finished the Girl's Two Mile Run with a time of 13:12.35. That was good for ninth place out of 169 participants. The top ten individual runners make it to State. The Girls 2A State Meet will be Saturday, November 4, in Round Rock.

As a team, the Lady Panthers finished 13th overall. Burton Head Coach Kurt Ramsey said that this is the best overall Regional Meet finish that they have ever had.

Reagan Roemer (Jr.) - 14:07.80

Avery Applewhite (Jr.) - 16:02:35

Kara Landriault (Fr.) - 16:24.16

Kaylynn Vavrecka (Sr.) - 16:36.63

Kelsie Holt (Jr.) - 16:52.63

On the boys side, the Burton Panthers finished 15th overall at the Regional Meet. Hunter Hancock, a senior, was the top finisher for Burton. Hancock finished 21st out of 174 runners in the 5K with a time of 19:13.17.
