$2.3 MILLION IN COCAINE SEIZED DURING FAYETTE CO. TRAFFIC STOP
Fayette County investigators made a large discovery of cocaine on Halloween.

Around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Narcotics Canine Unit stopped an 18-wheeler pulling a flatbed trailer on I-10 at the 658 mile marker near Flatonia for a traffic violation.
After speaking to the driver, Sergeant Randy Thumann observed several indicators that the vehicle was possibly being used to smuggle narcotics from Mexico into the U.S.
Sgt. Thumann received consent to search the vehicle and found that the trailer’s axles had been altered to conceal contraband. He proceeded to remove approximately 23 kilos of cocaine from the axles. The cocaine had a street value of $2.3 million.
The driver, 48-year-old Carlos Enrique Ruiz Rebullosa of Monterrey, Mexico, was arrested for Felony Drug Possession and taken to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.
