SEVEN PEOPLE PLEAD GUILTY IN DISTRICT COURT

  

Seven people plead guilty in District Court this week and were sentenced by Judge Robert Kern and Judge Reva Towslee Corbett.

Shawn Lampe, 50 of Burton, was sentenced to 3 years in prison for Evading Arrest or Detention with a Vehicle and Bail Jumping / Failure to Appear.

Tyrone Ray Scyrus, Jr., 26 of Brenham, was sentenced to 7 years in prison for Continuous Violence Against the Family.  He was also sentenced to 7 months in state jail for Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle.

Marco Antonio Moreno, 38 of Brenham, was sentenced to 12 months in state jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Injury to the Elderly.

Ciaunna Marie Lara, 21 of Austin, had her probation adjudicated and sentenced to 9 months in state jail.  She was also ordered to pay a $500 fine.

Kimberly Shawnita Miller, 39 of Alvin, was sentenced to 5 year probation for Burglary of a Habitation.  She was also ordered to pay a $750 fine.

Larry Hickey, 36 of Brenham, was sentenced to 7 years deferred adjudication probation for Assault of a Pregnant Person and Assault of a Family Member by Impeding Breath or Circulation.  He was also ordered to pay a $2000 fine and perform 150 hours of community service.

Mark Edward Calcote, 51 of Brenham, was sentenced to 2 days in the Washington County Jail for Driving While Intoxicated 2nd offence.

  1. 7 years deferred probation for beating on a pregnant woman?!?! What’s our world coming to where that kind of violence gets a slap on the wrist?
