BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPOND TO THREE CALLS FRIDAY-SATURDAY

The Brenham Fire Department responded to three calls from Friday night into early Saturday morning.

Firefighters were dispatched to 107 West Bryan Street Friday evening at 5:12pm for a report of a gas leak.

BFD members arrived on location to find a single-story home with nothing showing from the exterior.

Firefighters used a gas detector, but found no readings.  They would later turn the scene over to the City of Brenham Gas Department.

The Brenham Fire Department responded to their second call Friday night at 7:52pm at 200 South Chappell Hill for a report of someone locked inside a bathroom.

BFD units arrived on location, and used hand tools to force the door open. After making sure that the person locked inside was okay, and then they returned to service.

The final call came in this (Saturday) morning at 12:40am. Firefighters were dispatched to a fire alarm at Melcher Hall at Blinn College located at 601 Prairie Lea Street for a fire alarm.

After investigating, BFD members discovered the alarm was set off by a student smoking in their dorm room.  The alarm was reset and the firemen returned to service.
