BRENHAM POLICE INVESTIGATING MYSTERY LETTER SENT TO ST. PAUL’S

  

Brenham Police are investigating a letter that was sent to a local church that raised concerns among its staff.

Staff members from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church contacted police on Monday after receiving a letter from an unknown person and finding its contents to be alarming.

Officers met with staff members and obtained the letter.

According to Lieutenant Kelvin Raven, there is no direct threat in the letter made towards the Christian Day School, the children attending the school, the church, or its staff members.

Due to no direct threat being made, Raven said that there appears to be no threat to anyone’s safety at this time.

However, as a precautionary measure, a notification was sent out to parents of the children who attend St. Paul’s Christian Day School to make them aware of the situation.

Officers discussed other precautionary measures with school staff that could be taken.

One of the measures was an increase in officer presence at the school.  This was taken to provide a higher level of security to help alleviate and deter any worries that something might occur.

Raven added that Brenham Police are working with St. Paul’s to provide a safe environment for its students, staff, and visitors.
