BRENHAM ISD FIRST LEGO LEAGUE TEAMS ADVANCE TO REGIONALS

  

Brenham ISD had a strong showing at a recent qualifier event in the FIRST LEGO League robotics competition.

Brenham had six 6^th grade teams participating out of 46 in total.  Twelve teams advanced to the next round, and five of those teams were Brenham’s: American Hunters, AR Fishonaries, Digital Band Orchestrators, City Scapers, and the International Geocaching Crew. 

The five will go on to compete with about 50 other teams in the FIRST LEGO League regional tournament on Saturday at Attucks Middle School in Houston.  Only a few will move on to the state tournaments in March.

The teams also received several awards at the qualifier event:

• 1^st place Robot Design - Digital Band Orchestrators
• 1^st place Robot Game - International Geocaching Crew
• 2^nd place Champions - International Geocaching Crew
• 2^nd place Innovation Project - American Hunters
• 3^rd place Core Values - City Scapers
• Engineering Excellence and Core Values Award - Literature Leaders

The FIRST LEGO League teams are part of Brenham ISD’s Challenging Scientific Investigations (CSI) initiative.
