PANTHERS BEAT BRENHAM JV 6-4 TO END BURTON TOURNAMENT

The Burton Panther Baseball Team defeated the Brenham Cub JV 6-4 on Saturday afternoon on the final day of the Burton Tournament.

Burton jumped out the early lead with two runs in the bottom of the first inning. Reuben Rodriguez and Colby Beck had back-to-back singles, and then Bryson Biggs walked to load the bases. Ryder Biggs followed with a two-run single to put the Panthers up 2-0.

Brenham got one run back in the top of the fourth inning. as Brooks Roznovsky, that scored Ethan Ascheneck to cut the lead to 2-1.

Brenham took advantage of some Burton error to tie it 2-2 in the top of 6th inning.

Burton came back with four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Beck singled, and then scored on an RBI triple by Ryder Biggs. Biggs would then score on a Cub error to make it 4-2.

Eli Jaeger drew a walk, and the came home on a two-run homer by Brady Griffin that increased the Burton lead to 6-2.

In the top of the 7th inning, Brenham loaded up the bases, and then on an error by Burton, Roznovsky and Brayden Steele scored to make it 6-4.

Tyler Whitt went the distance for Burton to get the win.

The Burton Panthers will be on the road at Lexington Tuesday at 6pm. The Brenham JV Cubs are at Cy Woods at 6pm on Tuesday.
