The Chappell Hill Garden Club recently helped out the Washington Volunteer Fire Department with a generous donation.

Garden Club President Dixie Ford made a presentation to WVFD Treasurer Marla Casada and Media Events Coordinator Linda Oberhoff.

The Washington VFD received a case with large, heavy tarps, protein bars, and other food items.

The protein bars and food items are especially valuable when the department is out on a call where they have to remain on the scene for several hours.

The items are also frequently shared between fire departments when they are on mutual aid calls.

Funding was made possible by proceeds from the Garden Club’s Christmas Homes Tour that was held this past December.

The Chappell Hill Garden Club is getting ready to hold another fundraiser coming up in June. They are planning for it to be a Medicinal plant event.
