LEE CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE WARNING OF PHONE SCAM
Lee County residents are advised to be aware of recent phone scams.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office says citizens have reported getting calls from someone who claims to be a deputy with the sheriff’s office.
The individual then tells the victim to make a money payment to them.
The sheriff’s office says legitimate law enforcement will never call and demand payment over the phone.
Anyone who receives a call of this nature is asked to report it to the sheriff’s office at 979-542-2800.
