BURTON RESIDENTS ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE IN SOCIOECONOMIC SURVEY

The City of Burton is asking residents to take part this weekend in a socioeconomic survey.

The city is working on applying for grant funding with the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) to improve its water system.  The survey is needed in order to determine the city’s eligibility for debt forgiveness.

In February, the city hired Business Services Company to conduct the survey.  They will be in town from tomorrow (Friday) to Sunday and will be going door-to-door.

Residents are encouraged to respond to the questions asked by the survey group.  If a sufficient percentage of full-time residents do not participate in the survey, the city will not be eligible to ask for debt forgiveness.

The city says it will not receive any individual household responses; data collected will be submitted directly to the TWDB, and the city will only receive a summary of the data.

Anyone with questions can contact Burton City Hall at 979-289-3402 or the after-hours cell phone at 979-530-3524.
