WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO TAKE UP HOTEL OCCUPANCY TAX GRANT APPLICATIONS

Washington County Commissioners will meet Tuesday to discuss and potentially vote on the county’s Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) grant applications.

The applications are for local organizations that are seeking tourism grant funding for an event, program or project.

Part of the court’s discussion will be about post-event reports included with the applications.  Through the reports, entities that receive tourism grant funding show how HOT funding is used and how the organization’s activity impacted tourism in the county.

In other business, commissioners will consider the county’s Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) drug and alcohol testing policy and procedures.  They will also act on a right-of-way permit application for the MS 150 on Sunday, April 28th

In addition, the court will act on a certificate and award of financial reporting achievement for the annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2022.

There will also be a monthly report presented by the sheriff’s office, in addition to monthly and annual reports from the auditor, county and district clerks, justices of the peace, tax assessor-collector, treasurer, constables, elections and veterans service officer.

Commissioners will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse.
