SUSPECT IN AUSTIN/COLORADO CO. BURGLARIES ARRESTED

  

A suspect in a series of burglaries in Austin and Colorado counties has been taken into custody.

The sheriff’s offices of both counties conducted a joint operation on Wednesday to recover stolen property in the 1200 block of Bostik Road in Colorado County.

According to the Austin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies recovered two vehicles recently stolen in New Ulm, as well as items from recent Colorado County burglaries.  They also located stolen items from a burglary at Systems Painters in New Ulm.

The suspect, 18-year-old Quincy Kyle Janszen, was arrested at the scene and taken to the Colorado County Jail for booking. 

Janszen is charged in Colorado County with Burglary of a Habitation and Possession of Stolen Property $30,000-$150,000.  He is also expected to face charges in Austin County.

The operation was the result of coordination between Austin County Sheriff’s investigators and the Colorado County Criminal Investigations Division.

  1. It’s good to see that coordination between counties can lead to effective crime solving. Arresting the suspect and recovering the stolen property are key steps in addressing the recent surge in burglaries. Hopefully, this will bring some relief to the affected communities in both Austin and Colorado counties.
