THREE ALARM CALLS AMONG FOUR TOTAL FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT. TUESDAY
The Brenham Fire Department responded to four calls on Tuesday, three of them being alarms.
Around 8:45 a.m., the department was dispatched for a fire alarm at Kruse Village, 1700 East Stone Street. Units arrived and discovered it was construction that caused the alarm to go off.
Shortly before 1 p.m., firefighters were called out for a fire alarm at Hobby Lobby, 810 Highway 290 East, but were cancelled after receiving proper code from the alarm company.
At 4 p.m., units responded to a crash in the 1000 block of Highway 105 and found a two-vehicle accident on the shoulder of the highway. They checked both vehicles, and no fluid mitigation was needed.
The last call of the day came just after 7 p.m., when the department received another alarm call at a home in the 1100 block of Briscoe Street. BFD members found there was a malfunction in the alarm system and helped to reset it before returning to service.
