CITY OF BRENHAM OFFERING 500 LBS OF BRUSH, YARD WASTE CREDIT AT COLLECTION STATION AFTER STORM

The City of Brenham is offering a way to dispose of brush and yard waste as many residents begin to clean up after Hurricane Beryl.

From tomorrow (Wednesday) to Wednesday, July 17th, each City of Brenham resident will receive 500 pounds of brush credit when bringing their debris to the BVR Collection Station at 2009 Old Chappell Hill Road.

If the yard waste or brush exceeds 500 pounds, the additional weight will be subject to the normal rate of $30 per ton.

The offer is exclusively for residential city customers and does not apply to commercial entities or tree service companies.  After July 17th, regular disposal rates will apply.

Proof of city residency is required at the Collection Station.

Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.

  1. Uhhh, maybe someone should send a memo out to all the people who basically have brush piles in the streets all over town. The city of Brenham should have *never* picked up the debris from that storm a couple of months back. Now, everyone is expecting it again. Government hand outs should be thought through carefully. It’s impossible to stop/retract them after you start.

  2. This is a great opportunity to save $7.50. For a whole 500 lbs of tree limbs. Everybody don’t go line up all at one time now.

  3. How are senior citizens or residence that do have the means of getting the waste to the center. seems like the city has money for everything else, but when we have a storm you got to fend for yourself.. The city did a good job with the last storm, I have more waste this time.

  4. So that’s great IF you have a way of getting it there. Otherwise, looks like I’m out of luck.
