WASHINGTON WOMAN KILLED IN CRASH ON FM 1155

  

A Washington woman was killed in an accident early Saturday morning near Chappell Hill.

The crash occurred shortly after 4:45 a.m. on FM 1155 at Valley Drive.

DPS Sergeant Justin Ruiz reports a 2006 Honda Civic headed northbound on FM 1155 was traveling downhill on a left-hand curve at a speed deemed unsafe.  According to Sgt. Ruiz, the vehicle drove off the road, struck a road sign and vaulted over a creek before striking an embankment and falling backwards into the water. 

The driver, 23-year-old Kirsten Hudson, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Hudson was the lone occupant, and no other vehicles were involved.

Responding to the scene were the Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department and Swiftwater Technician Captain Matt Martin, who were assisted with recovery by the Brenham Fire Department and Washington County EMS.  Also on scene were the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, DPS and Washington County Citizens on Patrol.
