‘CLEAR THE SHELTERS’ EVENT SATURDAY CANCELLED; FREE ADOPTIONS OFFERED THROUGHOUT SEPTEMBER

  

Brenham Animal Services is cancelling its “Clear the Shelters” adoption event on Saturday.

In a release late Wednesday, the City of Brenham said some of the animals at the Brenham Pet Adoption Center are experiencing a mild illness. 

Animal Services Manager Megan Gray said the animals are recovering quickly, but still need a few more days to be fully ready for adoption.  She said, “Our top priority is the health and happiness of the animals, and we believe it’s important for every potential adopter to meet their future pet in the best condition possible.”

While Saturday’s event has been cancelled, Brenham Animal Services is still offering free adoptions throughout September.  Gray said shelter staff members “are confident that this brief delay will allow for a smoother, healthier transition for pets into their new homes.”
