SOMERVILLE CLINCHES DISTRICT TITLE AFTER MCDADE FORFEITS FRIDAY’S GAME

While Somerville Head Coach Phil Roberts would have preferred to have won it on the field, the Yeguas have clinched their first District Championship since 1983.

McDade ISD posted on their Facebook page that the Bulldogs have forfeited this Friday night’s game against the Somerville Yeguas.

The forfeit improves Somerville to 8-1 on the season, and they also clinch the District Championship. It is the first district title for the Yeguas since 1983.

Somerville will finish up the regular season on the road at Milano next Friday, November 8, and then its on to the playoffs.
