FOUR AREA VOLLEYBALL TEAMS ADVANCE TO STATE SEMIFINALS

Four area teams have advanced to the State Semifinals of the UIL Playoffs. The format is different this season with only the State Championship Games being played at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland this coming weekend.

Also, while 1A remains the same, the 2A-6A levels have been divided into Division I (bigger schools) and Division II (smaller schools).

In the 1A State Semifinals, Round Top-Carmine will face Neches on Tuesday at 6:30pm at Normangee High School. The winner plays either Bronte or Harrold for the 1A State Championship on Thursday at 3pm.

In the Class 2A Division II State Semifinals, Iola plays Shiner tonight (Monday) at 7pm at the Kruse Center in Brenham. The winner plays Windthorst or Crawford in the 2A Division Championship Game on Thursday at 5pm.

For Class 4A Division I, Bellville takes on Davenport on Tuesday at 6pm at the Burger Center in Austin. The winner plays Decatur or Celina for the 4A Division I Championship on Friday at 6pm.

For Class 5A Division I, College Station battles Flour Bluff on Tuesday at 6:30pm at the Dub Farris Athletic Complex in San Antonio. The winner plays Aledo or McKinney North on Saturday at 2pm for the 5A Division I Championship.
