CITY OF BRENHAM BEGINS FIRST PHASE OF LOESCH STREET GROUND WATER WELL PROJECT
The City of Brenham has started Phase 1 of its Loesch Street ground water well project.
The city says the project will provide additional treated water capacity and a new water source for residents.
The city contracted in October with Hydro Resources-Mid Continent Inc. to handle the first phase, which will involve rehabilitating the existing Jasper Aquifer well on Loesch Street and constructing a new Catahoula Aquifer well on city-owned property near the intersection of Loesch Street and Briar Point Lane.
Hydro Resources will build a 30-foot-tall sound barrier to help limit the construction noise that exits the work site.
Construction will typically take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day, but the city says the drilling portion of the project will involve work 24 hours a day between early February and early May. Well test pumping will occur from May 19-23.
Phase 2 of the project, which will consist of treatment facility design and construction, is expected to begin soon after the first phase is complete.
Doesn’t the city of Brenham have a noise ordinance? So would 24 hour work be permitted?
Sure can’t wait for the round the clock work to begin! Yay
