POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE & MARIJUANA AMONG CHARGES IN EIGHT BOOKINGS FOR BRENHAM PD
Brenham police reported eight arrests between Tuesday and early this (Wednesday) morning.
Shortly after 10 a.m. Tuesday, Officer Garrett Downs conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1300 block of Prairie Lea Street for expired registration. Police say that all three occupants, identified as 23-year-old Julius Hogan of Brenham, 19-year-old Quinterrion Riley of Brenham and 54-year-old Jeffery Richardson of Houston, were all in possession of marijuana, but none of them took ownership. Additionally, Richardson had two active warrants out of Brenham Municipal Court for Driving While License Invalid and for Unsafe Speed. All three individuals were placed into custody for Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz., while Richardson was also booked in for his two warrants.
At 7:15 p.m., Corporal Alex Saenz conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of Blinn Boulevard for a defective tail lamp. During the investigation, police state that the passenger of the vehicle, identified as 69-year-old Kenneth Roberts of Brenham, was found to be in possession of marijuana and a controlled substance. Roberts also had an active warrant out of Brenham Municipal Court for Display/Expired Registration. Roberts was placed into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, 1-4 Grams, Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz., and the municipal warrant.
Around 11 p.m., officers were patrolling the 1800 block of Highway 105 when they observed a vehicle drive past their marked patrol unit with a license plate that did not illuminate a distance of 50 feet from the rear. Officers initiated their emergency signal lights and the vehicle came to a stop. Officers then learned that the driver, 38-year-old Brette Ashlea Richardson of Brenham, had a vehicle registration that was expired, no insurance, and a suspended driver’s license. Richardson was placed into custody and booked at the Washington County Jail for Driving While License Invalid Enhanced and Display/Expired Registration.
Just past 1:30 a.m. today, Corporal Saenz conducted a parks check at Jackson Street Park in the 1300 block of South Jackson Street and observed a vehicle in the parking lot after curfew hours. Investigation determined that the occupants of the vehicle were in possession of marijuana. Police arrested 18-year-old Daylion Robinson and 18-year-old Alexus Traylor, both of Willis, for Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz.
Close to 3:15 a.m., Officer Danielle Corrado conducted an investigative stop in the 200 block of Highway 290 West, where 33-year-old Sonny Marks of Brenham was said to be driving a motor vehicle while his driver’s license was invalid. While the officer was conducting the investigation, police report that Marks made a phone call to an individual who is the protected party of a protective order. After a probable cause search, Marks was arrested and taken to the Washington County Jail for Driving While License Invalid Enhanced, Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, Less Than a Gram, and Violation of a Protective Order.
