HOUSTON MAN WANTED ON 15 FELONY WARRANTS ONE OF THREE ARRESTED THURSDAY BY BRENHAM POLICE
Brenham police arrested three people on Thursday, including one on criminal trespass and assault charges and another on a set of 15 warrants.
At 1 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of West Chauncy Street regarding a disturbance. Police say the subject had fled the scene after threatening a victim, but was later found around the 1300 block of South Austin Street. 34-year-old Bracken Bowen of Brenham was taken into custody for Criminal Trespass and an active warrant out of Washington County for Assault Family Violence.
Close to 8:15 p.m., Officer Ramon Torres conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling westbound in the 1900 block of Highway 290 West for no front license plate. The driver, identified as 58-year-old James Lee Newsome of Houston, was taken into custody for 15 felony warrants out of numerous jurisdictions: Forgery out of Johnson County; six counts of Forgery of a Government Instrument, three each out of Refugio County and San Patricio County; Theft of Property $750 - $2,500 out of Fort Bend County; and seven warrants out of Sumner County, Tennessee, including four for Criminal Simulation and three for Theft Under $1,000. Additionally, the passenger, 21-year-old Ras Isaiah Jahshua Burkett of Houston, was charged with Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz.
