ASCHENBECK FINISHES FIRST SEASON OF PRO BASEBALL
Former Brenham Cub, Blinn Buccaneer, and Texas A&M Aggie Evan Aschenbeck has completed his first official season of professional baseball.
Aschenbeck, who is in the Chicago Cubs organization, started the season with the low Class-A Myrtle Beach Pelicans, and was promoted after just three games to the high Class-A South Bend Cubs.
Between the two teams, he pitched in 19 games, making 15 starts.
Aschenbeck finished with a 5-4 record, a 2.39 ERA, pitching 94.1 innings with 72 strikeouts to just 22 walks, and holding opponents to just a .242 batting average.
