SHERIFF’S OFFICE MAKES ARRESTS FOR BURGLARY & THEFT, SEX OFFENDER REGISTRATION
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported two arrests over the weekend.
Around 8 p.m. Friday, deputies executed a felony warrant in the 1000 block of Key Street. 53-year-old Gregory Duane Davis of Chappell Hill was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Washington County Jail, where he was charged with Sex Offender Duty Register Life/Annually.
Close to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sergeant Corey Himebaugh was dispatched to the 3900 block of FM 390 North in reference to a lapsed burglary, in which $19,000 in jewelry was reported missing. According to the caller, three male subjects were seen on the security camera at 1 a.m., and one of them was said to still be on the property. The caller identified the subject as someone who had been performing renovation work at the property. Upon deputies’ arrival, a male subject was located who, according to the sheriff’s office, advised he had contacted the other male subjects to meet him there so he could purchase narcotics. 36-year-old Nick Samuel Guerrero Anastasio, address unknown, was taken into custody and booked at the Washington County Jail for Burglary of a Habitation, Theft of Property $2,500 - $30,000 and Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, Less Than a Gram.
