WASHINGTON LADIES LIONS COLLECT EYEGLASSES FOR CHARITY

  

The Washington County Ladies Lions Club is doing their part to help the public see a little more clearly.

The Ladies Lions Club has named the Texas Lion Eyeglass Recycling Center as the beneficiary of their June 19 fundraiser.

Club members, local businesses, and eyeglass locations collected used eyeglasses and sunglasses all year.

The Ladies Lions collected 917 pairs of eyeglasses, and shipped them to the Recycling Center.

The Eyeglass Recycling Center receives, processes and distributes used eyeglasses worldwide.

The Center is a nonprofit 501(c)3 foundation of the Lions of Texas. With the support of the Lions Clubs International Foundation, they recycle eyeglasses for use in Texas, the United States and around the world.

The mission of the Texas Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center is to provide used eyeglasses to Lions and other group missions providing vision screening and assistance in developing countries.

Recycled glasses are supplied only under the guidelines of Lions International Eyeglass Recycling Center policy and procedures.
