Story by Joe Alberico, Blinn College Sports Information
The 19th-ranked Blinn College women's soccer team came up short in a 1-0 Region 14 road loss to No. 18 Angelina College on Friday in Lufkin, Texas.
The Buccaneers dropped to 4-2-2 overall and 3-2-2 in region play.
"The better team won today," Blinn head coach Alexandria Jackson said. "We need to get back to what has made us successful, which is hard work, discipline, and communication. No one is going to work harder than our coaching staff to get this team back on track."
The two clubs battled to a stalemate through the first half and into the second until the Roadrunners scored the match's lone goal in the 51st minute.
Blinn freshman goalkeeper Haidlyn Hawkins finished with five saves.
The Bucs tallied eight shots and earned three corner kicks.
