BRENHAM, CHAPPELL HILL FIREFIGHTERS RESPOND THURSDAY TO CRASH WITH ENTRAPMENT
The Brenham Fire Department responded to three calls on Thursday and one early this (Friday) morning.
Around 9:45 a.m. Thursday, firefighters received a report of a transportation incident in the 700 block of High Street. However, upon arrival, they found no vehicles and no signs of a crash.
A transportation incident with entrapment was reported shortly after noon at FM 1155 South and Valley Drive. Members of the Brenham Fire Department and Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department found a single vehicle on its driver’s side against the tree line. Chappell Hill units used cutters to remove the steering wheel, and Brenham units helped EMS get the patient to an ambulance.
Close to 7:15 p.m., BFD members went out to an alarm sounding at Germania Insurance, 507 Highway 290 East. Nothing was showing from the exterior of the building, and there were no signs of smoke or fire upon entering. The department reset the alarm and advised an employee what was found.
At 6:15 a.m. today, units were dispatched to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, 700 Medical Parkway, for a report of a gas leak. They found nothing showing from the outside of the building, no signs of smoke or fire after walking through the area, and no readings on the gas detector.
