BLINN LIVESTOCK JUDGING TEAMS WIN TITLES AT STATE FAIR OF TEXAS
Blinn College’s freshman and sophomore teams won top honors at the prestigious State Fair of Texas livestock judging contest Monday in Dallas.

With the State Fair of Texas results, Blinn surged to the top of Livestockjudging.com’s national junior college rankings with 1.271 points. Blinn has opened the 2025-26 season with second-place finishes at the Tulsa State Fair and the Top Notch Intercollegiate Swine Judging contest in Paragould, Ark., and third place at the National Barrow Show in Austin, Minn.
At Dallas, Blinn’s sophomore team was the champion in the cattle competition, second in swine, and third in sheep/goats to compile 4,557 points.
Paige Zimprich placed second overall. Jenna Lindig was fourth overall, placing third in cattle, eighth in reasons, and 10th in swine. Luke Domingue was seventh-high individual and placed 10th in sheep/goats. Kenna Schram was ninth-high individual, placing first in reasons, fourth in swine, and seventh in sheep/goats.
Kaleigh Conant was second in swine, Jhett West fourth in reasons, Ian Moss placed fourth in sheep/goats, and Nathan Oakes was eighth in cattle.
In the freshman division, Blinn won the competition with 4,116 points. Blinn had the champion team in reasons, cattle, and swine, and placed fourth in sheep/goats.
Taylor Eckelberg was fourth-high individual, including the top individual in cattle and eighth in sheep/goats. Tatum Bales was fifth-high individual overall, placing seventh in reasons and eighth in swine and cattle. Lane Steen was 10th-high individual overall, placing fourth in swine.
Sarah Craun was fourth in reasons, Colton Mullins placed fifth in reasons, Braxley Brezina was second in swine and eighth in reasons, and Dade DeLozier placed fifth in sheep/goats.
“We are proud of the effort across both our freshman and sophomore teams and the work they’ve put in so far this fall,” said livestock judging coach Adrian Austin. “We’re going to get back to the grind and keep working toward our first national contest with the sophomores in just a short time.”
Blinn will next compete Oct. 20 at the American Royal Contest in Kansas City, Mo.
Livestock judging is part of Blinn’s Agricultural Sciences Program, which has one of the most active extracurricular programs in the state, including the Agriculture Club, wildlife, agriculture mechanics, and horticulture.
