BRENHAM FD RESPONDS TO CHILDREN LOCKED IN VEHICLE, THREE ALARM CALLS
The Brenham Fire Department went out to four calls between Wednesday and early this (Thursday) morning.
Approaching 8 a.m. Wednesday, units were dispatched to Grocery Supply Company, 602 West First Street, for a fire alarm sounding. The department found nothing showing from the exterior of the building and, upon speaking with an employee, learned the issue was coming from a busted pipe.
Just after 9:30 p.m., another fire alarm was reported at Blue Bell Creameries, 1101 South Blue Bell Road. Nothing was found on the outside of the building. BFD members spoke with an employee who advised they were testing the alarm and that there was no fire.
At 2:45 a.m. today, a third fire alarm call came in from the Blue Bell Aquatic Center, 1800 East Tom Green Street. There was nothing showing from the outside of the facility, and ultimately no signs of smoke or fire, so the alarm was reset.
Shortly after 6 a.m., firefighters responded to Zippy J’s, 203 South Blue Bell Road, for a report of a child locked in a car, with the car running. They made location to find two children locked inside the vehicle. After gaining access, they determined the children were okay.
