The Brenham Shrine Club recently received an urgent request to help a child in need.

The child was an 18-month-old that had suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns to over 40% of their body.

This patient was referred to Shriners Children’s Hospital of Texas, a facility that is world renowned for its burn center and care.

The Air Transportation cost to take the child there exceeded $22,000.

Brenham Shrine Club President Michael Thorpe said that they agreed to send $1,000 to assist with the transfer.

He added that through the efforts of Shriners across Texas, they were able to get the child the care that was needed in a timely manner.

The primary purpose of Shrine Clubs is to make local communities aware of the Hospital and its specialty services available to children.
