SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARRESTS CEDAR CREEK MAN FOR POSSESSION OF NARCOTICS
A Cedar Creek man was arrested by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday on multiple charges.
At 11:15 p.m., Corporal Rosa Salinas conducted a traffic stop in the 3500 block of Highway 290 West for no front license plate and expired registration.
Due to what the sheriff’s office described as suspicious circumstances, the Brenham Police Department K9 unit was requested. K9 Maki alerted on the vehicle and a probable cause search was conducted, resulting in the discovery of narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
The driver, 50-year-old Merick James Hanshew, was taken into custody and booked at the Washington County Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, Less Than a Gram, No Driver’s License and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
