ALL 17 TEXAS CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS PASS

  

All of the 17 proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution were approved by voters on Tuesday.

The passed amendments include increases to homestead and business exemptions, dedicating state funding to water projects and dementia research, stricter rules on allowing bail for certain felony offenses, and adjustments to the makeup of the State Commission on Judicial Conduct, which investigates judicial misconduct.

According to unofficial results from the Texas Secretary of State’s Office, the propositions ranged in support from a 54.8 percent margin up to 89.2 percent. 

Washington County voters followed the trends seen statewide, as all 17 amendment propositions were approved in Washington County. 

Per unofficial tallies from Washington County Elections Administrator Carol Jackson, 6,409 Washington County residents voted in the election, out of 25,698 registered voters.  That includes 4,066 early voters, 2,304 on Election Day and 39 absentee.
