CLUB AMERICA OF WASHINGTON COUNTY INVITES STUDENTS TO KICK-OFF EVENT THURSDAY
Washington County’s newly formed chapter of Club America is holding its formal kick-off event on Thursday.

Club America. A formal kick-off event is scheduled
for Thursday at the Fireman's Training Center in
Brenham.
The meeting will take place from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Fireman’s Training Center in Brenham and will have free food, games, giveaways, guest speakers, and the ability to meet club officers and learn more about the club’s mission.
The club was created in Washington County by a group of students who sought to pass on the legacy of Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA. Communications Officer Brooke Mulder says one of its focal points is inspiring youth to be active in politics and their communities.
President Colleen Beaudet says the response from students so far has been very positive. Additionally, she says the backing from the public at large has been much appreciated, as the club has received around $5,500 in monetary and in-kind donations, including the donation of the venue for Thursday’s kick-off.
Scheduled to speak at the event are State Senator Lois Kolkhorst and Amanda Klehm, Vice President of the Republican Club of Washington County. The meeting will also have applications for those who are interested in serving as secondary board members.
Vice President Aldyn Jaks says all high school students in Washington County are welcome to join.
The club intends to meet every other week at Fireman’s Park in Brenham and maintain a presence at community events. It also seeks to perform service projects, hold voter registration drives and one day offer scholarships for local students.
