CHAD TIEMANN RUNNING FOR FAYETTE CO. PRECINCT 2 COMMISSIONER
A longtime Fayette County resident and current county employee is running for Fayette County Commissioner of Precinct 2.
Chad Tiemann has declared his candidacy in the March Republican primary for the seat currently held by Clint Sternadel, who was appointed in May after the retirement of his father, Luke Sternadel.
Tiemann began his career with the Precinct 2 Road and Bridge Department in January 2019 and transferred in July to work in Precinct 1, per the county’s policy regarding running against the incumbent appointed commissioner. Prior to joining the county, he worked in the private sector performing property management and with Texas Star Transport. He says he has gained valuable experience managing people, keeping projects on budget and on schedule, working knowledge of road and base materials, and building relationships with local vendors and suppliers.
Tiemann says the core responsibility of a county commissioner is managing road and bridge upkeep, and he has experience with all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the precinct. He pledges to keep a presence on the roads, in the shop and alongside county employees to ensure the county follows through with proactive improvements, rather than reactive maintenance.
Tiemann also says commissioners must be responsible stewards of tax dollars, and he believes in a balanced budget, a low tax base, and transparent, cooperative governance focused on the betterment of Fayette County.
Tiemann is a fifth-generation Fayette County resident and lives with his wife, Christy, in Oldenburg, where they raised their daughter, Cassidy.
The deadline for candidates to file for a place on the March 3rd primary ballot is Monday, December 8th.
