FIREFIGHTERS RESPOND SATURDAY FOR ACCIDENT, SPARKING A/C UNIT
The Brenham Fire Department responded to two calls on Saturday.
Just past 3:15 p.m., members of the Brenham Fire Department and Meyersville, Salem and Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Departments were dispatched to a report of a structure fire at Dollar General, 2311 South Market Street. Units found nothing showing from the exterior of the building, but they did discover a wire that was sparking inside an A/C unit, causing a smell. Firefighters turned the power off to the unit and advised the manager what was found before returning to service.
Around 4:45 p.m., BFD members went out to a transportation incident in the 2000 block of Highway 290 West. There, they found a two-vehicle accident and provided traffic control until both vehicles were removed from the roadway.
