Antyiahna Lange (Brenham ISD)

The Brenham Cubette Basketball Team picked up their second straight district win with a 73-45 victory over the Rudder Rangers last (Tuesday) night at the Brenham High School Gym.

After getting off to a slow start, the Cubettes were able to find that second gear, and dominated the rest of the night.

Brenham trailed for most of the first quarter until Amirah Byrd hit a buzzer beating shot to give the Cubettes a 16-15 lead. Byrd finished with eight points off the bench for Brenham.

The Cubettes scored 19 points in each of the remaining three quarters, while Rudder managed only 30 points over the final three periods

Aby Adams and Antyiahna Lang led Brenham with 15 points each. Janiyah Mathis added 12 points.

The win improves the Cubettes to 18-10 overall, and 2-3 in district.

Next up, Brenham will head to Lake Creek on Friday night to wrap up the first half of district play. The opening tipoff is scheduled for 6:30pm.
