CUB BASKETBALL KNOCKS OFF FIRST PLACE LAKE CREEK 46-38
It wasn't the prettiest of games, but the Brenham Cub Basketball Team defeated Lake Creek 46-38 last (Friday) night at the Brenham High School Gym.
The Cubs jumped out to an early 15-7 lead in the first quarter. Jayden Hebert scored 10 of his game high 21 points in that opening period.
The Lions came back and outscored Brenham 11-7 in the second quarter. However, the Cubs still led 22-18 at halftime.
In the second half, Brenham won both the third quarter and the fourth quarter by narrow margins, 13-11, and 11-9.
Chris Guidry also reached double digits for the Cubs with 10 points, and Dawud Majied added eight points.
The win improves Brenham to 16-10 overall and 2-3 in district. Lake Creek drops to 19-6 overall and 3-1 in district.
