LEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE CONDUCTS SEX OFFENDER OPERATION

The Lee County Sheriff's Office recently conducted a countywide operation to verify compliance among registered sex offenders residing in their jurisdiction.

During the operation, deputies conducted home compliance checks to ensure offenders were meeting all state-mandated registration requirements.

According to Sheriff Garrett Durrenberger, three registered offenders were found to be non-compliant with required regulations, and appropriate enforcement action is being taken in accordance with Texas law.

The operation was conducted with the assistance of Special Agents from the Texas Department of Public Safety, who worked alongside Lee County deputies to carry out the compliance checks.

Durrenberger praised the efforts of those involved in the operation saying,

“I appreciate the hard work of our personnel and the support of our partners at the Texas Department of Public Safety in helping ensure that registered offenders are following the law and that our communities remain safe."

Durrenberger add that the Lee County Sheriff's Office will continue to conduct periodic compliance checks and enforcement operations to ensure that sex offenders remain in compliance with registration requirements.
