GRASS FIRE AMONG FOUR WEEKEND CALLS FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

The Brenham Fire Department responded to four calls between Saturday and Sunday.

Approaching 2:15 p.m. Saturday, members of the Brenham Fire Department and Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department went out to the 1000 block of Sledge Court in Chappell Hill for a grass fire.  The departments found a controlled burn that had gotten out of control.  Brenham units assisted the Chappell Hill department with fire suppression.

Just shy of 9:45 p.m., the department was called to Kruse Village, 1700 East Stone Street, for a fire alarm.  BFD members found a faulty detector.

Around 6:15 a.m. Sunday, firefighters were dispatched to a crash at Highway 36 North and North Park Street.  Ultimately, no action was needed by the fire department.

Shortly before 3:15 p.m., units went back out to Kruse Village, where they found an occupant had activated the pull station by accident.
