The lovely mid-century modern home and surrounding gardens blend with harmony as the original landscape design was a valuable reference in planning the original garden and as the garden continues to evolve.  The home, built in the early 1950’s, still includes some of these original plants.  The present home owners are avid gardeners and continue to plan and maintain their garden to perfection.  The front flower beds contain azaleas, Holly Fern, Louisiana Iris, Indian Hawthorn, and a Texas Mountain Laurel tree.  The backyard flower beds are especially outstanding.  Bloodgood Japanese Maple trees add vibrant color, as well as the amaryllis and Hinckley’s Columbine which are in full bloom.

The vast collection of plants includes begonias, irises, poppies, cosmos, yarrow, day lilies, Oakleaf Hydrangea, Mexican Firespike, Rose of Sharon Hardy Hibiscus, and Camelia Sasanqua which are among the favorites of the Coles.  Complimenting the home are mature trees which favor a very large Crepe Myrtle tree.  Nearby is a spreading fig tree.  A kitchen garden provides fresh vegetables in season.  This exquisite garden has already stood the test of time and it continues to flourish.  In appreciation for their efforts, the Coles have been given a gift certificate to a local nursery.
