BRENHAM FD RESPONDS EARLY SUNDAY FOR VENTILATION CALL
The Brenham Fire Department was called out four times on Saturday and once early Sunday morning.
The department’s first two calls on Saturday were for fire alarms, one around 8:45 a.m. at a home in the 900 block of Legrand Street, and the next at 12:30 p.m. at Brenham High School, 525 AH Ehrig Drive. Both alarms were determined to be false.
Units then responded a few minutes before 12:45 p.m. for a smoke investigation in the 3400 block of Highway 36 South. However, they could not locate the source of the smoke, so they returned to service.
Firefighters went out to another fire alarm around 4:15 p.m. at Super 8 by Wyndham, 2209 Highway 290 East. The alarm was found to be false.
Just past midnight on Sunday, BFD members responded to a report of a structure fire at the Fairview Terrace Apartments, 909 Hasskarl Drive. Nothing was showing from the two-story structure. Units made entry and found burnt food on the stove. They proceeded to ventilate the apartment from the light smoke that was inside.
