WASHINGTON CO. APPRAISAL DISTRICT BOARD ADOPTS 2026-27 BUDGET
The Washington County Appraisal District Board of Directors voted on Tuesday to adopt the new fiscal year budget.
No comments were made during a public hearing for the 2026-27 budget, which balances at $1,978,960.
The budget is an increase of $75,350 from the existing budget, though it is a reduction from the originally proposed budget of $2,007,660. Chief Appraiser Dyann White said the difference was due to a calculation error.
Also on Tuesday, the board approved two amendments to the board of directors policy manual. They add a records management policy and a requirement to sign an acknowledgement of director’s duties prior to the appointment of members to serve on the board.
The board tabled a proposed change to the district’s method of financing, which would have shifted from invoicing budget allocations monthly to quarterly.
