The Burton School Board will take up several items on Monday in preparation for the summer and the next school year.

The meeting will open with the swearing-in of the three trustees who were unopposed for re-election to new terms: Dean Fuchs, Misty Lucherk and Donna Putnam.  The board will then name who will serve as board president, vice president and secretary.

Later, trustees will act on possible staff pay raises for the 2026-27 year, Burton ISD’s summer school plan, and authorizing the hire of contractual personnel between May 12th and August 31st

The board will also vote on an item calling for the replacement of the elementary gym floor for a cost not to exceed $100,000.  Additionally, it will consider a resolution regarding Senate Bill 546, the new state law that requires school districts to install three-point seat belts on buses.

Other business will include the district’s goals and objectives for next school year, the pre-kindergarten tuition rate for next year, an Open Education Resources (OER) transition plan, and a slate of monthly reports and updates.

The board will meet Monday at 5 p.m. in the Burton ISD Cafeteria.
