COLUMBUS GETTING READY FOR MAGNOLIA DAYS FESTIVAL

  

The annual Magnolia Days Festival is coming to Columbus this week Friday and Saturday.

The Magnolia Days Festival will be held on the historic Colorado County Courthouse Square, under the shade of 100-year-old live oak and magnolia trees.

Friday’s events run from 5-11pm, while Saturday’s events are going to run from 12 noon-11pm.

The festival features musical entertainment and a street dance on both days. On Friday, the line-up includes 35 Drive at 5pm, the Texas Unlimited Band at 7:15pm, and the Spazmatics at 9:30pm.

Saturday’s lineup includes the Zydeco Dots at 2:45pm, the Barditch Hippies at 5pm, Southbound 955 at 7:15pm, and Glen Templeton at 9:30pm.

Visitors can also take a tour of historic homes and properties in Columbus, take a photo with the Magnolia Belles on the Courthouse Square, shop in the Vendor Marketplace, and sample food and beverages.

In addition to all that, there is a Family Fun Zone for the kids.

Saturday’s events will also feature a Car Show. The show is going to be held on Milam Street in Downtown Columbus. It is open to cars, trucks, and custom modified vehicles.

Check-in and registration start that morning at 9am, with the judging at 12 noon, and the awards being given out at 3pm.

According to the Columbus Chamber of Commerce, admission to the Magnolia Days Festival is free, and parking is plentiful.
