The TAS program is designed for high-achieving high school students in Texas who are interested in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.  Participants complete months of online coursework, engineering challenges and collaborative team projects focused on space exploration, aerospace innovation and real-world problem solving, while also gaining exposure to NASA professionals and career pathways.

Approximately 800 students across Texas were initially accepted into the TAS program, but only about 200 were selected to continue on to Moonshot based on their performance, leadership, teamwork and dedication throughout the program.

During Moonshot, students work alongside NASA engineers, mentors and peers to tackle advanced aerospace and space exploration challenges that are designed to mirror real-world STEM experiences.

After graduation, Antkowiak seeks to join Texas A&M University’s Engineering program to pursue a career as an aerospace engineer.

Brenham ISD Superintendent Clay Gillentine says the district is “incredibly proud” of Antkowiak and everything she has accomplished through the program.  He says, “Opportunities like NASA Texas Aerospace Scholars provide students with meaningful, real-world experiences that inspire future careers and showcase the incredible talent, determination, and potential of our Brenham ISD students.  Bailey’s success is a reflection of her hard work and the bright future ahead of her.”

Brenham ISD congratulates Antkowiak on her achievement and says it looks forward to seeing all she accomplishes in the future.
